Dear Lil Rebels and Riverside Rebels,
I would like to welcome you all back to the 2022-23 school year. I hope you and your families are healthy and doing well. I am excited for the opportunity to serve as RMHS principal for my 4th year and 2nd year as the Laura Irwin Elementary Principal. Our faculty PreK-12 are thrilled to welcome our students back to school. Over the last few years we have learned a lot about how we communicate and deliver content to students and families and again whether it is traditional, in-person learning or joining classes through Canvas, Zoom or Seesaw, they will continue to have the opportunity to grow with Big Horn School District #4.
This year my main goals are to follow the path that our board, administration, staff and community laid out in strategic planning four years ago.
Continue the tremendous academic success we have had in learning and teaching that happens everyday in the classrooms at the middle and high school.
Continuing to improve on the lines of communication amongst all stakeholders within the school district.
Continue to build a positive culture where students can challenge themselves in a safe and caring environment.
While I'm excited to begin the new school year, I understand some, including myself, still are concerned and anxious about what this year may bring with the many changes that are happening due to COVID-19. We all wish that it was gone and eradicated, but with different strains or variants we know that it will still be present in our communities. We hope we are on the backside of this pandemic, but rest assured, the staff at LIE and RMHS are committed to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students to excel in this year. We will continue providing a safe and clean environment for our students and prioritize good hygiene practices for everyone within our buildings.
I look forward to seeing you all again and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share to make our school and community a better place.
Best Regards,
Matthew Jensen
